Velvet Princess -Valentine Edition 6

Happy Valentines good people,

It’s been an amazing week of posting, sharing with you dear readers outfits i felt were not only inspired by cupid but could also be worn on various occassions and events round the year.By the way I’m sitted outside just to get clear network reception and watch the moon in it’s crescent shape..lovely scene. As they say a dress can make you feel anything and good for that matter(princess of Genovia) :-),this right here scored it for me in so so many levels and that is why i’m serving it last. The velvety feel of the fabric is such a win not forgetting how it responded to the wind’s call.My sensual sandal heels with velvet fabric and some touch of faux feather completed this look ♥♥

Notice how my abs are shaping up..haha just kidding, probably love handles from Dr.Cupid ♥♡♥

I want to wish you an amazing day tomorrow full of laughter and love… 🙂

11things to see and do in Dubai

Hola everyone,

Long wordy and picture heavy post alert 🙂

Location:Dubai & Abu dhabi UAE
Photos:self,florence and patience (we tried)

Been a while since i posted, twelve days is such a long time away from this space and i apologise;blame it on tonnes of work and the fatigue that comes with it.Allow me to introduce a travel category on this platform where i will be sharing with you my dear readers the various places my lust for wander has taken me,i love travelling and experiencing the diversity of cultures, norms and of course the beauty that lies in nature and man-made architecture.
Travelled to Dubai mid last month for a mini vacay and the experience was amaaaazing (high pitch voice) simply out of this world.I managed to visit nine out of this list because Dubai boasts of attractions that will take months of adventure and exploration

Burj Khalifa

Dubai’s landmark building is the burj khalifa, which at 829.8m is the tallest building in the world. The views across the city skyline from this birds-eye are simply staggering and mind blowing
Observarion deck,floor 124 out of 164

Dubai museum

Dubai’s excellent museum is housed in the Al-fahidi fort, built in 1787.It showcases the mammoth expansion that hit the region after the oil boom

Dubai creek

Dubai creek separates the city into two towns with Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south. The Dhow wharfage is located along dubai’s creek bank which is still used by small traders, some of the dhows anchored there are well over 100 years. We had dinner here on our third day of the visit

Jumeirah Mosque

Considered by many to be the most beautiful of Dubai’s mosques (i honestly din’t get to see this because my roomate and i overslept(blame it on checking in late and under estimating our tour guide’s punctuality) we were left by the tour bus unfortunately:-) we then had to hustle to get to them which was an experience by itself, riding around from deira where our hotel was located to the CBD with an indian cab driver who was such a story teller and a good tour guide 🙂 🙂

Dubai mall

This was definitely one of my fav because yeah…i love shopping. Its the city’s premier mall and largest retail, leisure and entertainment destination in the world that provides entry to the burj khalifa as well as Dubai acquirium. Our tour guide mentioned that it would take at least a week to fully exhaust the 1,200 stores which are home to the world’s largest brands.

Burj al-Arab

The world’s tallest hotel, standing 321m high located on its own artificial island designed to resemble a billowing dhow sail. It’s one of the most expensive hotels in the world with most luxurious suites costing over $15,000 for one night..we saw this from a distance and took pictures 🙂 (our dreams are valid, one day)

Jumeirah beach

This strip of sandy white bliss is the number one beach destination for taking long romantic strolls ♥♥

Atlantis,the palm Dubai

Spent an entire day here, will be back for the dolphins ♥♥

Now this topped my list and the activities are officially off my bucket.I got my adrenaline pumping with record breaking rides and slides filled with dark mysterious tunnels that shoved us into the SHARK LAGOON,you heard me 🙂 and incredible water coasters that pushed us to the limit.I felt brave enough to take the ultimate plunge into the leap of faith.I Highly recommend this because it was worth every minute spent

Desert safari

This tour departs in the afternoon across the desert of dubai with several photo stops. The thrilling ride continued in deflated land cruisers and at some point we stopped to witness a moment. My heart skipped beats as i watched the beautiful sunset,it was a sight to behold, second to none.We had our dinner at the campsite as we watched our belly dancer perform her show around the campfire by starlight as we got some henna design done at no cost 🙂 ♥

Ferrari world Abu dhabi

This is a 2hrs 30 min ride fron dubai

The world’s first ferrari branded and largest indoor theme park houses numerous high adrenaline rides including the world’s fastest rollercoaster (formula rossa) with a top speed of 250kmph in a record 4.9 sec wooooah…this was deep, too deep, mind blowing i tell ya’

Dubai Marina

This is home to the newest and most fascinating buildings characterised by a dramatic skyline of skycrapers and residential apartment blocks that looks particulary impressive when illuminated at night

I live for official outfits because that is where i spend my monday to friday. It can sometimes get boring trying to figure out the perfect work outfit that is formal, stylish and effortlessly chic all at once, you know the struggle on sunday evening 🙂 🙂 Above all that, formal wear can be intresting and fun especially if one invests in those staple pieces like the classic white shirt, pencil skirt, black blazer and an LBD which help in playing around with pieces to achieve diffrent looks. This dress is one of my fav because it is simple, stylish and can transition from day to night. This is one of my to-go when i’m too exhausted and lazy to play pair up.Love the leather detail on the pockets and arm hole, adds some fresh insight to the whole ensemble.Threw on my usual black blazer because of the sleeves and spiced things up with glossy heels

Hey Loves,

Happy new month.October has literally flown by and november now seems like the new december, smelling the festive season already with buildings being lit and all,Galleria mall had done that by friday 🙂
Today’s outfit is a dress top in butterfly print that i bought for one dollar which is an equivalent of roughly one hundred freaking kenyan shilings, where do you get that♥♡♥.At first i had no idea how i would pair it up but the print and colors kept calling my name,i guess you all know by now that i’m big on color,so i said yes.So then how did i achieve this look, well i’m a big fun of Maureen Bandari’s blog ( and there’s one particular post she did on turning an oversized dress top to a peplum by using two slim belts. Here goes; To begin, tie the first belt around your torso, pull up all the excess fabric up and out then cinch your waist with the second belt and voila.I wore this beautiful piece with a dress, which ultimately means i could transition from work to an evening event by loosing the top, swaping into some sandal heels, statement neckpiece, lip color and i will be ready to rumble.

I love reading your comments so please leave them on the section below 🙂

Good Morning good people,

I can’t seem to wrap my mind around the fact that my travel month is almost here..october yaaaaaaaas like literally doing a happy dance 🙂 so happy,anxoius,excited..i mean, this jittery kinda feeling is setting in and sitting pretty well i tell you.It has taken months of planning and just getting everything into perspective. It almost seemed impossible at the beginning but with a lot of encouragement from mama and looking with admiration on how vast she has transversed the globe, the experiences, memories and all the goodness that comes with it,i decided to take my wanderlust self a notch higher, everything is possible if you set your mind right at it and work hard towards achieving them goals ♥♥ Please follow me on instagram @emillymoraa;twitter @emoraah7 to get all my travel details, blog updates and more. Into fashion related news now,i love me lots of print numbers be it tees, tops, cami’s you name it.I always find the encryptions very fancy, chic and stylish for any casual pair up.The pair of shorts are my absolute favourite (wish i could own ten of them) and i always have them on my trips because they have a way of setting the holiday mood perfectly,i sure will be carrying them with me next month 🙂 Finished off my look with a sling polka also featured here ,bata ngomaz and a chain neckpiece

Thank you for stopping by and stay stylish xoxo

Hey loves,

Been a while since i last posted, its been quite hectic these last couple of months with work and school, taken a break to do this quick post before i head back to my books(exam time).Sharing with you a look i had last saturday, went for a chic and laid back look by combining this beige maxi and print tee.Bought the two at the same time and place, knew right on that they’d make a great team.Love the love heart print and lenght of the skirt..i heart it more when the wind blows…too bad my camera can’t capture that well.My old sandals and chain neckpiece summed up this look.Went for a wide brown belt to define my waist and add some flare to the look..
